Leonel Soto joined Nexus in 2018 as a Field Engineer, and is responsible for Quality Assurance/Quality Control for the Cambria Hotel and Suites located in Anaheim, CA. In addition, his responsibilities include generating reports of the quality control checks and ensuring RFI’s have been corrected on construction plans.
Leonel received his Bachelors of Science in Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Civil Structures and Geotechnical Engineering and a minor in Spanish Literature from the University of California, San Diego.
He began his career in 2016 as an Engineer Teacher at the Elementary Institute of Science, where he taught basic engineering principles on mechanics and electricity. Soon after, he was offered a position at Hibrid Home, a solar company, as a Drafter. Here he created full sets of plans, and processed permits as a liaison to various cities. In 2017, he started working for Durand Architectural Engineering as a Junior Engineer, where he gained extensive knowledge in residential projects, developed designs, created architectural and engineering drawings, and performed engineering calculations.
